Some uploaded mp3 files I want to play at the pc visting www.mecanto.com gives the error: "The track you requested not be played".
The same uploaded mp3 files won't also play on my Android smartphone. It is buffering and nothing happens.
The same files played on my local pc with Windows Media Player won't give a problem, they play well.

This is a reoccurring issue with others as well; it's the third time that someone specifically has mentioned. MeCanto, can you please respond to this? My subscription for the year is up in like 3-4 months, and at this point, I am not sure if I'd want to re-up being there seems like there's no one here administratively wise.

At this moment no answer from Mecanto, not by this support community, not by email. My subscription is for free now (1 month) but I don't think I will subscribe for a longer (paid) period. I am looking for alternatives like for example mSpot. Amazon en Google Beta are not implemented in the Netherlands. Does anyone have other suggestions?

This is an expensive solution ($10 per month), but it's the best I have tested among all those you mention: check www.subsonic.org and try the self-hosting section (the Gigapros plan). I am delighted, in control of my content and everything plays nicely!

I have the same problem and I set today a support email asking for the solution to the problem. Lets wait their answer.

Same to me, send an email to support, but no reaction.
So I deleted my account.

Same here... exactly same deal... I'm getting too many "The track you requested -whatever- could not be played." too often. It's annoying. I even deleted some tracks and uploaded them again... no luck. We'll see what they say... I hope!

I'm hoping as well for a response but I fear the worst at this point. I do at least hope they are not sending out emails reminding folks that they should consider renewing their subscription, as that would border on ignorance of the concerns that many others are currently having now. I keep on trying to walk away from this and just accept that the workers are either not here or have been told to not respond, but then when I was playing Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blue" and both "So What" and "All Blues" couldn't play...heavy sigh. It's like some unintentional censorship, and it just gets more frustrating that you can't even talk to anyone about it, other than the other customers who in the end, nice words notwithstanding, can't do anything about it. Any message from them letting us know what's going on would be nice, but again, I fear this place is pretty much done. Sorry for the rambling on.

You will notice they do quickly answer posts about payment issues, but are conspicuously avoiding these threads.

Yes, but they haven't even done that for over a month. When they aren't active to do even that, that's a bad sign.

Hello everybody.
My problem has been solved!!
Nobody answered to the request, but today I test all of the bad tracks I had in the past, but they run normally.
Perhaps theres so time we need to wait ultil the process in their servers finish the uploading.
My library is correct Now, I think I have uploaded near 120 GB, and I paid the membresy monthly, since 7 months ago. -

I will also say that it seems that most (though not quite all) of the tracks that I have have trouble playing over the past month or so are now mostly playing again. No idea what the issue was, no notification from MeCanto, but the tracks are playing. Props for MeCanto for taking care of this issue, though it did take a while. It's at least a start. Thanks, MeCanto!

Don't get your hopes up, it seemed to be better two months ago for a while, and then was even worse than before.
