Problem changing artist listing

I'm having trouble updating information on some files, in particular, any of my songs that upload w/ no "artist" - meaning the artist listing is blank (not unknown). After trying to add one, you see the file(s) update with the new artist, then as the page refreshes, the artist name disappears. This has happened by doing a full album at a time or individual song
