Two suggestions
In the Android app, the fact that the app is "running" doesn't show up in the task bar. So if I back out of it to go to something else and it is still playing (which is fine), I have to open up the app again to get to the player if I need to. It's not up in the task bar for me to pull down and get to. I suggest it be accessible from the task bar.
Another suggestion... when browsing the app, the icons that distinguish between artist - album - track are very similar, at least in color scheme. Maybe change that up a bit to highlight the difference better. I like the layout that it shows the albums at the top and all the tracks at the bottom, and then goes further by showing only the tracks on a particular album if you specify that album. So just the icons I'm suggesting either change the color scheme a bit, or change the icons to make them more pronounced.

@arne ... that is a screen shot of your MeCanto app?!!? Those icons look very good and it is clear what is artist - album - title. I'm a bit confused then because mine doesn't look like that at all.
